Background

After conducting interviews and meeting with over 100 expert panel members (priests, pastors, denominational leaders, and scholars) in Calgary, Winnipeg, Vancouver, Toronto and Halifax regions, the Flourishing Congregations team designed a congregational survey that has been taken up by almost 200 congregations, with over 9000 respondents.  The initial group of denominational leaders, academics, consultants, and congregational leaders provided us with Canadian-based insights about what flourishing looks like and its root causes.

Ongoing Work

The ongoing survey work is conducted with Catholic, mainline and conservative protestant congregations. The next phase of this research entails working with an exciting group of collaborators from across Canada to conduct congregation-based case studies, with the desire to better understand the dynamics, mechanisms, and undergirding sources for flourishing across various traditions.
